| Lyrics: | Jul 1912)
[1st verse:]
Andy Gray, young and gay, was an elevator man
Like an
aviator, in his elevator
All day long he was on the job, taking people up and down
Mandy
Brook, as a cook, started working in the place
And they found her later in the
elevator
With Andy, so handy, said Mandy, "It's dandy!"
[chorus:]
Going up,
going up
Going up, going up
With the elevator man
Going up, going up
Going up,
going up
I feel like barrels of dynamite
Blowing up, blowing up
Blowing up, blowing
up
Ev'ry pleasure in the land
It makes me act
Just like a funny coon
I could
spend my honeymoon
Going up, going up
Going up, going up
With the elevator
man
[2nd verse:]
Andy Gray, young and gay, went and married Mandy Brook
We
discovered later that the elevator
Was the place where the knot was tied, tied while they were
going up
Soon a gal known as Sal came to work in Mandy's place
And they found her later in
the elevator
With Andy, so dandy, and handy, like Mandy |
