Big Bird: Hey Oscar, that's pretty. What is it?
Oscar: That, Big Bird, is my low trashcan lid.
Big Bird: Oh, really?
Oscar: Yeah, that's 'cause it makes a low sound when i play it [bong]. I also have a middle [bong],
and a high [bong]. And I will now play a melody.
Grover: Oscar, you must be joking.
Oscar: I'm not joking Grover, and you can play a melody too if you have three things that make a
low [dong], middle [dong], and high [dong].
Ernie: Uh, I have some bells here. [ding, ding, ding]
Big Bird: I've got 3 pans. [bong, bong, bong]
Grover: Uh, would a toy piano do? [tink, tink, tink]
Sherlock: How about glasses? [ding, ding, ding]
Oscar: Yeah, sure. All of those things are fine. And if you don't have anything to play, just sing
it. Now here's the melody. Listen and see if you can learn it. it goes like this:
(sung)
Low, middle, high, high, low, high
Low, middle, high, high
Low, middle, high, high, low, high
Low, middle, high, high
High, middle, high, low, low, low
Low, low, low
High
Low, middle, high, high, low, high
High, middle, high, low
Simple notes, 1 2 3, how pretty they can be
All: Low, middle, high, high, low, high
Low, middle, high, high
Low, middle, high, high, low, high
Low, middle, high, high
High, middle, high, low, low, low
Low, low, low
High
Low, middle, high, high, low, high
High, middle, high, low
Oscar: Simple notes 1 2 3, how pretty they can be, now won't you play with me?
(spoken)
Ernie: Gee Oscar, that was lovely.
Oscar: It was!? How embarrassing. | | | | Reddit | X / Twitter | Facebook | Copy link |
