geboren in't strooi,
English Translation:
THE SIMPLE BIRTH
From Heav'n there
came to earth a Baby so small:
>From Heav'n there came to earth a Baby so small:
Jesus, who
came for the sake of us all.
Jesus, who came for the sake of us all.
Beneath His tiny
head no pillow but hay;
God's richest treasure in rude manger lay.
His eyes of blackest
jest were sparkling with light,
Rosy cheeks bloomed onHis face fair and bright.
And
from His lovely mouth, the laughter did swell,
When He saw Mary, whom He loved so
well.
He came to weary earth, so dark and so drear,
To wish to mankind a blessed New
Year. |
